CLINICS
Minor Surgery Clinic
A minor surgery clinic is available in the surgery after prior assessment for
removal of small lesions and the freezing of warts etc.
Antenatal Clinic
These are held every Thursday and Dr Evans is in attendance with a midwife and
our health care assistant. When booking your first time appointment you need to
arrange this with the receptionists. The midwifery team from Kingston Hospital
book new antenatal patients into a special clinic held on Thursday mornings.
Baby/Child Clinic
A child health clinic is held every Thursday by Dr Munnelly and the health visitors
on an appointment only basis. Any problems or worries you may
have concerning your child can be discussed at this clinic.
A drop-in child health clinic is run every Tuesday (1.00-3.00pm) and Wednesday (9.30 - 11.30am) at Emberbrook Health Centre.
Children's Immunisation Timetable
Many potentially fatal childhood diseases have been virtually eradicated in the
UK due to the availability of vaccination. It is very important that babies and
children are fully immunised.
The child vaccinations are now given
in rapid succession at two, three and four months to protect small babies from
whooping cough and haemophilus (Hib) infections. It is very important that your
child has these vaccinations. It is rare for a child not to be able to have the
whooping cough vaccine. There is a very real danger of your baby being damaged
if they contracts whooping cough in the first year of life.

Clinics
These monitor the progress of our patients at regular intervals and are run by
our doctors and practice nurses.
Family Planning
Dr Shine runs the family planning service in the practice. We provide a comprehensive
service including the fitting of coils and caps.
Counselling
The practice is able to use the service of two NHS counsellors. Private counselling
is also available - please ask at reception.
Foreign Travel
Our practice nurses are very experienced in this field and are able to advise
you about immunisations or special precautions that may be required for your destination.
Please consult them two months before travel if possible. We can offer a wide
range of travel vaccines including yellow fever and rabies. Not all vaccines are
available on the NHS and a charge will be made for some.
Immunisations And Vaccinations
We strongly advise that both children and adults, particularly the elderly, receive
the recommended protective injections. These are given by the practice nurse in
the course of the well baby clinic for infants and for other patients by appointment.
Health Promotion
Our nurses are happy to give advice about lifestyle issues and to carry out checks
such as blood pressure and urine examination.
Non-NHS Services
We provide a range of services, which lie outside the scope of the NHS, such as
medical examinations for employment, HGV and PSV examinations, reports for insurance
companies, solicitors, employers etc. There is a fee for these services, details
of which can be obtained from reception.
If you have any queries about the services we offer please ask our reception or
management staff.
