Travel Vaccinations
Travel advice leaflet - click hereEGS Travel Advice leaflet To help us advise you on the protection you need for your forthcoming trip, please complete and return the form preferably at least 8 weeks before departure. We cannot guarantee to be able to accommodate appointments at short notice, in which case you may be advised to attend a travel clinic.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to complete one of our travel forms in order for our nurses to have a look at to see what vaccinations you may need. Once you have given us your completed travel form please contact reception 3 days later. The receptionist will then make an appointment for you with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements, or to give the vaccinations required
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below, and the link to a travel advice site is here,
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel. Some vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine, and the vaccines should be given at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS, and the fees are on the Travel Questionnaire
If you are traveling within the next 6 weeks, please consider seeing a local Travel Clinic, as these can have longer opening hours. If you need a copy of your vaccination record to take to a Travel Clinic, please ask at reception
